Who are Liesegang and White?
Guitarist Bill Liesegang is a true veteran of the rock scene and has already picked for: JOHN WETTON, DAVID BOWIE, NINA HAGEN, KINGDOM COME, ROD STEWART, UDO LINDENBERG or INGA HUMPE, wrote songs for these artists from a wide variety of disciplines.
He got the offer from MOTÖRHEAD years ago and played with a nowadays not entirely unknown singer named BRUCE DICKINSON in a band called THE SHOTS.
Singer Doogie White can not look back on such a long career. But not every bard can claim to have worked with YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and RAINBOW. Not to forget his three really good albums with CORNERSTONE.
These two protagonists have now brought some highly qualified musicians into the studio and could not commit to anything less than Tommy Hansen as a mixer and master for this album produced by Mr. Liesegang - that there is nothing to criticize in terms of sound technical Visual Surveillance of Extremities, so should be almost logical ,
Also musically there is nothing wrong with the song material and anyone who likes the Hard Rock of the seventies and likes to listen to an album of BLACK SABBATH (in the Tony Martin-era), RAINBOW or WHITESNAKE is likely to play for eleven songs ( including two instrumentals called Vivaldi or Old Father Time).
The songs live from a mixture of catchy melodies, hymn-like choruses, sprawling keyboard rugs (which happily do not water down the songs) and hard guitars that like some songs (The Ballad of Bible John, Last Temptation) like an Ozzy-meets-BLACK LABEL SOCIETY- Song sound.
The musicians also prove that they can make varied music within genre boundaries with Zeppelin-esque New Addiction and the ballad-obsessed Worlds Collide, while failures such as the boring Black Winter are more than a minority.
Long story short: Visual Surveillance of Extremities offers the buyer first-class song material, competent musicians, a real exceptional singer and a crisp sound.
