Creed Taylors's baby, it started as a A&M subsidiary, before becoming independent (distributed by Motown) until a first bankrupt in 1978, forcing Taylor to a deal with Columbia which ended-up in loosing the rights on the masters to them (hence to Sony/BMG).
Taylor relaunched CTI in 1990, until 1998.
Nowadays, is doing mail order sells on his website.
Most stuff was lost either to A&M, MoJazz, or Columbia.
CTI had a few subsidiaries (Kudu, Salvation).
