Sea Lion Woman is a traditional southern U.S. folk rhyme originally field recorded in 1939 and sung by Christine and Katherine Shipp, adapted and recorded as See-Line Woman by Nina Simone.

See-Line Woman that became a standard in Simone's live repertoire. It talks about the life of a high paid upper-class prostitute. The song is often mispronounced as Sealion Woman, though a reference to sealions was never intended. It has been covered in a different adaptation by Feist.
