Il barbiere di Siviglia (London, 1975)
~ Release group by Gioachino Rossini; Beverly Sills, Sherrill Milnes, Nicolai Gedda, Renato Capecchi, Fedora Barbieri, Ruggero Raimondi, The John Alldis Choir, London Symphony Orchestra, James Levine
Annotation
>This Release Group was recorded beginning in 1974-08. The cast came down with colds and the recording could not be resumed and completed until 1975-05.
>The original LP x 3 release contained two more musical numbers in Act II: "Casa di più resistere" for tenor, and "Ah, se è ver che in tal momento" for soprano. Beverly Sills can be heard singing the latter on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNyWWiUa7Dg.
>When it was remastered for digital in 1996, the decision was made to drop these so that it could be issued on 2 CDs. These are listed in the Italian Wiki as alternative musical numbers. There is an interesting review @ http://www.arkivmusic.com/classical/album.jsp?album_id=176447
