This album blends progressive metal with elements of black metal, evoking a Nordic folk and Viking metal spirit. One of Borknagar's most vocally complex works, the title track features an impressive quartet of vocalists: ICS Vortex, Vintersorg, Lazare, and Kristoffer Rygg. Musically, the album is a rich and rewarding experience, seamlessly fusing fierce guitar work with delicate acoustic passages, all underpinned by atmospheric keyboards that create a powerful narrative and evocative mood. overall this album for me is 10/10
