The follow up to last year's underground gem 24 Hour Psychedelic Freakout sees Crazy P dropping the 'enis' and turning in a set that makes our bosom swell with pride. Billed as a coming of age record, A Night On Earth looks set to romp home as THE 'feel good album of 2005'.
Fans of the band won't be surprised at the glossy fusion of house, disco and jazz; however their crystalline production value and song writing have been cranked up a gear. The dark, funk parable "Lady T" sounds off like a 21st Century Chic, whilst down tempo gem "A Night On Earth" and housed-up "Kicks" and "Sun-Science" see the boys at their uplifting best and with singer Danielle Moore in radiant fettle.
Ah yes... Danielle. She was first in line when they were handing out voices, dance moves and wardrobe. However, it is on stage that she morphs from sweet, soul vocalist into a strutting, superstar front woman. Galvanising the band's performance in to an incendiary party each time, it is she who makes them the hottest ticket on the live circuit at the moment.
Providing a perfect panacea for the glum rock epidemic, Crazy P have once again seduced us with a record of perennial beauty.
