Annotation
This edition of the Requiem, the Süssmayr edition, is known for its richness and thick texture. (It is this edition that often uses the trombones to double the choir.) This recording uses period instruments, and is one of the more successful period instrument performances to come from the 1980's.
Recorded: 1986 (September and November; London; DDD)
Releases Include: Philips 420 197-2 (DDD)
