These remixes were made in the mid-1990s by persons unknown and released in Germany. The rumour has always been that this is someone from The Orb who did it but often denied. Other candidates include Jimmy Cauty (co-founder of The Orb and The KLF), Aphex Twin and Trent Reznor.
These remixes really upset some people as to the lack of quality. And the fact that some people just don't like their Floyd messed with. ;)
