Beschreibung

Introduced to Indonesia in the 15th century, this variant of the spike-fiddle rebab has two bowed metal strings with characteristically long tuning pegs and is made of hide-covered wood or coconut shell. It is the melody leader in gamelan and is also used in healing rituals.
