bīn (Family of ancient Indian stick zither chordophones)

~ Familie

Beschreibung

One of the two subfamilies of Indian chordophones, the North Indian stick zither used in classical Hindustani music has two (or more) large gourd sound resonators and a stick or tube body.
Commonly called "bin", "been" or "bean", the representative is rudra veena, and credits to just "bin" are usually that.
