Far Black Furlong make experimental, ambient music that also draws on Folk, Drones, Classical and Electronica. Their music is based on live improvisation that is later edited and treated, and otherwise mangled.

The band is Mark Baigent (woodwinds), Andy Cotterill (electronica, treatments, ebow guitar), Richard Moult (Piano, guitar) & Ian Tengwall (guitar). Other releases also feature artists include Bryony Lees (Poetry), John Letcher (Hammered Dulcimer), Anne Marie Summer (Welsh harp, Hurdy-gurdy, 'bone trumpet'), and Amanda Votta (Flute).
