The Crown of Roses (for solo high voice and orchestra)
~ Song
Annotation
aka Legend (or Легенда), op. 54, no. 5. was translated into German by a Hans Schmidt as well, though Geoffrey Dearmer's English lyrics may well have been translated directly from Alekséy Pleshchéyev's original Russian lyrics (itself said to have been translated from English text) rather than Schmidt's German lyrics.
there were altogether at least three transcriptions Tchaikovsky had written: the first for high voice and orchestra (1883), the second for a cappella mixed choir (1889), and a third for tenor and orchestra. - pages 163-165 here
